creative art therapy for those who need support
My name is Georgia and I work from my base in Barnsley offering creative art therapy to those who need support.
I work with both children and adults and offer face-to-face or online/remote therapy sessions.
I work in a person-centred way, so I do my best to adapt and work in a way that works best for you and will enable you to process issues and think about what is going on for you.
I have experience working with clients who are dealing with anxiety, low mood, grief and loss, relationship problems, identity, disability and chronic pain, neurodiversity ADHD and LGBTQIA-related issues.
I also work as a Specialist Mental Health Mentor with University students across South & West Yorkshire.

Generally Asked Questions.
What is art psychotherapy?
Art Therapy is a form of Psychotherapy that uses creative expression to enable the client to communicate, explore and process thoughts and feelings. You will be invited to explore and create with a variety of materials, such as paints, pencils, mixed media or modelling clay, for an agreed length of time. Later in your session, you will be invited to reflect and share thoughts and feelings about anything the artmaking has brought up for you.
What happens in art therapy?
Art Therapy is about using your creativity to express thoughts and feelings.
These sessions are usually around 50 minutes long and are facilitated by a qualified Art Psychotherapist. The sessions are confidential, and you will not be asked to talk about anything you do not want to share unless you feel comfortable doing so. It is usually recommended that you attend a course of therapy for around 12 weeks, but there is no obligation to stick to a set timeframe.
At the end of your sessions, you will be invited to take any of the work away that you wish to keep.
Do I need to be good at art?
Art therapy is not an art lesson, you do not need to be good at drawing or art to attend, just willing to experiment with materials.
